Positive feelings come from being honest about yourself and accepting your personality, and physical characteristics, warts and all; and, from belonging to a family that accepts you without question.
BloomTree Learning Communities is a network of communities dedicated to supporting college students in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. We share a fundamental set of guiding principles and a passion for successful transition from treatment to graduation and beyond. The communities, while unique in each location and locally owned and managed are based on the model of the TreeHouse Learning Community (TreehouseLearningCommunity.com).
The TreeHouse's defining feature is its commitment to assisting sober students in identifying their passion and talents and using that passion to guide and energize their studies and direct them onto their path ahead.
The BloomTree Communities as a network of collaborating partners, share best practices, conduct and share research and data and use the extended network to help students source opportunities to participate in nationwide and global projects. BloomTree is dedicated to gaining knowledge about recovery, supporting sustainable recovery practices, to contributing to the state of the art and science of addiction and transformative recovery.
We believe that collaboration is the best vehicle for fostering creative, relevant and dynamic environments that support students who need to be equipt to thrive before and after graduation.
The BloomTree Foundation was established to support the BloomTree Learning Communities in fulfilling its mission to educate young adults in recovery.
The mission of the BloomTree Foundation is to develop and coordinate resources to provide monies and human resources for student projects, for scholarships and for research on transitions.
The vision of The Foundation is to become a self-sustaining, independent non-profit organization which enables students to attend a BloomTree House Learning Community regardless of their ability to pay.
By offering aid to cover up to 50% percent of each admitted student's need, the Foundation envisions an increasingly diverse student body with a growing number of students from low- and middle-income backgrounds.
The Foundation will also utilize funds received from major donors to provide for research on recovery, therapy and best practices throughout the recovery community and disseminate that information to the BloomTree House Learning Community Partners. The Foundation will also collect feedback and statistical data from each of the BloomTree House Learning Centers which it will utilize in its efforts to assist all BloomTree House Learning Centers to achieve operating excellence and best practices.

A learning community supports and inspires the intellectual and personal development of all members of the community. It fosters an environment that values diversity, differences, and the rights of all individuals. It supports and creates new knowledge through research and scholarly inquiry on the part of teachers, staff and students, and it shares that knowledge with the broader community.
A learning community is centered on the classroom and in project-led learning, but extends throughout the school and into the world around it. In such a community, all activities, roles, and responsibilities are related with its members engaged in a common enterprise.
BloomTree is committed to the learning community model because research has shown that it increases student retention and academic achievement, increases student involvement and motivation, improves student time to degree completion and enhances student intellectual development. Students involved in learning communities become more responsible for their own learning and develop the capacity for care about the learning of their peers. Positive feelings come from being honest about yourself and accepting your personality, and physical characteristics, warts and all; and, from belonging to a family that accepts you without question.
Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value.
I am, indeed, a king, because I know how to rule myself.
If there is no passion in your life, then have you really lived? Find you passion, whatever it may be. Become it and let it become you and you will find great things happen for you, to you and because of you.
Humility is the only true wisdom by which we prepare our minds for all the possible changes of life.
No house should ever be on a hill or on anything. It should be of the hill. Belonging to it. Hill and house should live together each the happier for the other.
If you have anything really valuable to contribute to the world, it will come through the expression of your own personality, that single spark of divinity that sets you off and makes you different from every other living creature.
Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.
